I love the flow of Ashtanga Yoga. Carried by the deep breath to feel my body and at the same time to focus myself inside and
out. To purify and balance - physically, emotionally and mentally. Coming out of the yoga practice refreshed, with lightness, stability and clarity.
I also love the subtle aspects of Yoga, Mudra & Pranayama - as Sri Sribhashyam, Sri T. Krishnamacharyas youngest son transmitted it to us.
As I love the both - I can not drop one of these.
On my yogaway it just happened that I always learned within the Sri T. Krishnamacharya Tradition. I started with a BKS Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training and discovered Ashtanga Yoga on a journey to
India, which brought me to my teacher Rolf Naujocat, and later to Sharath Jois in Mysore. During these years I met the youngest son of T. Krishnamacharya - and his teaching touched my
heart.
Later I dived deeper into the Vinyasa Krama Method - which Srivatsa Ramaswami is still transmitting - and felt to understand a big deal more of how the Ashtanga Practice is related to a
bigger picture of the method behind.
When we are young, we want to test our boundaries, and expand the bodily limits - and to experience this in India, Goa and then in Mysore - was fulfilling a bigger seeking - on one
hand for freedom and travelling - on the other hand it was an inner journey - a soul journey!
When we grow older - it shows the opportunity to give more impact on the inner side of the yogic limbs - keeping up strength as possible and moving more slowly and deeply.
My intention for my teaching is to convey the depth of Ashtanga Yoga by using the different tools of the Yoga as handed down by Sri T.
Krishnamacharya to his students, as far as I thankfully received it. My daily practice is connected with the seeking to dive deeper into the mystery of Yoga, into the spiritual
mastery of life!
In 2018, at the age of 59 Govinda and I moved to the Costa del Sol (Malaga, Spain) - following a deep call of my heart.
We are immensely happy to share our gifts here and to open our space freely and with open hearts to welcome yogi/nis from around the world. The Ashtanga Mysore Class allows to teach teach yogi/nis of all levels and age.
It feels like to surrender to a gift we are able to provide - for more peace, heartfulness and deep spiritual quest - and the feeling to be part of a great community of dedicated yogis.
Bienvenidos!
